Barrier-Free Recovery for the Entire Family
Our Goal is to be Accessible
We offer an environment of unconditional love, acceptance and empathy. All of our evidence-based counseling, recovery coaching, and support services are provided at no cost to parents, teens, and their siblings. Our goal is to be accessible to every community member in need. Pure coaching and support groups available in Spanish.
Our Virtual Services
Peer Counseling
Our peer counselors who are in recovery themselves couple their experience with professional education to help you or your loved one identify issues pertaining to substance use, and work to identify and solve common problems.
Prevention Education
Virtual classes that cover various topics ranging from long-term effects of substance use to how to be involved in your community.
Support Groups
Facilitated by a peer counselor, participants meet in a group format to share their experiences, which strengthens the relationships within the group and provides and environment that encourages vulnerability and honesty.
Social Activity
We show that it is possible to have fun without getting high. Participation is important as the activities afford you or your loved one the opportunity to relax and laugh, which is crucial to healing individually and as a family.
Treatment Navigation
If you or your loved one need more intensive support, our team is here to help find your family resources that are best suited to your personal needs.

Isolation, Anxiety, and Stress Can be Triggers
In this current environment, our most vulnerable are at a higher risk of relapse or to turn to substance as a means of escape. We are living in a perfect storm for those who don’t seek help when they need it.

About Us
Established in San Antonio in 1977 as the Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP), our nonprofit organization was founded as a faith-based resource to San Antonio families, offering solutions to eliminate the devastating impacts and stigma of substance use. By 2014, PDAP only described a portion of our reach and Rise Recovery was founded to support the PDAP direct service program along with our growing resources to the community.
In 2021, we began to virtually expand our services to several counties in Texas for youth and their families. Our new Telehealth program reaches community members exactly where they are, no matter the distance from San Antonio.

In partnership with Be Well Texas at UT Health San Antonio.
